Kevin Durant is a 28-year-old professional basketball player that was on born on September 29, 1988. He’s 6 ft 9 in tall and play’s for the Golden State warriors where he won his first championship in 2017.

 

Basketball Career:

Durant started playing basketball at a very young age in his hometown, Washington DC. He played in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) league and in high school before playing for the Longhorns at University of Texas. After one year of college he decided to enter the 2007 NBA draft. On NBA draft night, he was drafted second overall by the Seattle Super Sonics. His first year in the NBA, he showed his potential by winning Rookie of the Year Award.

Most of us thought he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder right? Well, Seatle Super Sonics moved to Oklahoma after the 2007-2008 season. Kevin Durant is offensively great and can get his shot any time because of his 7-foot wingspan. In 2009-2010 he became the youngest top scorer in the league. By 2015 Durant had made close to $90 Million Dollars. In the summer of 2016 Durant had to make a big decision for his basketball career. He always wanted to win a championship and the best way to do that was to join the Golden State Warriors. He signed a 2 year $54 Million dollar contract. By the summer of 2017 Durant was a NBA champion. Also he won the NBA Final’s MVP. After winning his Championship, Durant opted out of his contract and signed a 2 year $53 million dollar contract. Durant took a pay cut to insure the Warriors can add more player’s and stay competitive. They are favored to win again next year, so let’s see which teams will challenge them.
